Ways To Consolidate Credit Card Debt Knowledge Base
What is the easiest way to consolidate credit card debt? I have two credit cards that have about $8,000 in debt between them. I am serious about paying them both off, and pretty much will go as far as starving to get it done. It would just be so much cheaper and easier if this was one bill instead of two. I have played the balance transfer game, but at this point it seems like adding another bill would be more problematic than consolidating. I just don't know how to do it or who to trust. Is there any downside to consolidation?
What is the best way to consolidate credit card debt with low income? I have racked up about $10,000 in credit card debt stemming from college and medical expenses. What is my best option as I am still a student and working with a very limited budget? Are there hidden catches to debt consolidation companies; if so what? What is the best way to negotiate with creditors to lower the debt?
what is the best was to consolidate credit card debt? I'm 21 and have made some studip choices on getting credit cards and charging them up. I have $8000 in debt and am still in school. How do I consolidate my credit card debt? My wonderful , but obviously money happy boyfriend has accumulated around $13k in credit card debt. He has 4-5 credit cards, one with a balance of $7k. He does not own a house. We tried the bank where he has his truck loan through, but he cannot get a loan because he has no collateral. What can he do now? We want to start moving in the direction of marriage and a family, but not with this looming over us. What is the best way to resolve this issue?
what is a good way to consolidate non-credit card debt? i have a very low credit score of 533. however, i have no credits cards outstanding. i had one credit card bill, but i paid it off about two years ago. everything that is on my credit now is generally small stuff--excepting my student loans--under a couple hundred dollars. i have mostly medical bills -- LOTS of stuff that got sent to collections for being unpaid. uninsured hospital visits, ambulance rides, laboratory tests, etc. i didn't have insurance for over 2 years. is using a debt consolidation company really a viable way to go? i have heard that simply using one reflects badly on your credit, but i really don't think my credit could get a whole lot worse. i have at probably one or two dozen negative things on my credit report, but not a single one is a credit card! you'd think that would make it easier to work with--at least i'm not being charged interest or late fees on any of these debts. but add it all up and it's a lot! any advice??
Do you need to make a large purchase, or want to consolidate your credit card debt? Fifth Third Platinum Mastercard If you are trying to pay off your credit card debt and would like to apply for a card that has a fixed 3.9% balance transfer rate until 2010 and 0% on new purchases for one year, email me at pdiddy48071@yahoo.com with your name and phone number and I'd be glad to call you and go over all the benefits and take your application... trust me, it's a great card (i have one myself) and with the economy the way it is, credit card rates are going up and people are tightening belts... so lock in a very low rate now while you have the chance. If you need to make a big purchase in the next couple months (great for tuition, a new computer, etc)- apply for this card and make the purchase with it- then destroy the card (so you don't get tempted to use it more), and make 12 monthly payments with no interest as long as you pay it off by next year! One $1000 computer = 12 $100 payments a month. Transfer balances too! Fixed 3.9% until 1-1-2010! Email me today!
I want to consolidate my credit cards debt and get rid of high interst rates. What is the best way to do this? I have 4 credit cards with approx. $25,000.00 worth of debt on them. I would like to get ahold of a non-profit debt counseling service in order to get rid of the high interest rates and pay them off alot sooner instead of only paying the interest and the over the limit fees. I have not used these cards for the past 5-6 years and the accounts are closed except for me making payments on them. I am not even touching the actual principal that I owe, although, I have probably paid enough on these cards to have actually paid off the actual principal. How is the best way to do this and what are some reputalbe non-profit agencies that will help achieve this? I have also heard that some credit cards will take a settlement on some accounts. Is this a good idea and how much of the amount owed do they usually want? I realize that this may hurt my credit rating but to be honest with you it isn't worth squat now, so what is the difference? Does the debt consolidation hurt your credit as well?
need suggestions on how to consolidate my credit card debt. please help...? as a new home owner, i have no equity in my home. also i have a better than average credit score (728), and would like to keep it that way. bills are getting paid but they are also coming at an alarming rate. the 42,000 is spread out over 8 different credit cards, with intrest rates spread out from 9.99% to 21% and a total payment of about $930.00 a month.
I have a small amount of debt (mostly credit card) how can i consolidate it or pay it off quickly? I just got out of school last may 2006, then in January of 2007 I decided to go back to school to get my teaching certificate. I will be done in May 2009, so my income isn't as much as I would like. I was wondering if there is a place that is trustworthy that I consolidate my credit card payment, my paypal buyers credit, and my dell account into one place so I can have one monthly payment so I can pay it off quickly. One other question is there a way I could get them all defered till I'm out of school again, where I can start working full time? Or is there a place I can get a lower interest rate loan to pay all of them off with, and then defer that payement until after school? I just want to get all my geese in a line! I hate paying several different bills!

Consolidating Credit Card Debt? I'm 26 years old and I'm buried in credit card debt. I owe about $30,000. I just finished College and I'm leaving to the Air Force next week. I've been doing some research and I found a debt consolidating company that promised to reduced my credit card debt by 60%. They told me to stop paying my creditors and let my accounts go to deliquent status. Once in deliquent status, they will come and they will try to settle the accoutns at lower price. I have the following questions: 1) is this a good strategy? 2) How this will affect me in the long run? 3) Is there an alternative way? 4) Should I file for bankrupcy? Thanks
What would be the best option to consolidate your credit card debt? Which is the best way to go about it? I'm a college student and I've got several major credit cards that I have really high balances on. Transfering balances is not an option. I think the best thing to do is just consolidate all my major credit cards and store cards. However I wouldn't even know where to start. Could I get some advice as to how to go about it? Like what is a good company to contact and maybe what to stay away from. I just think that instead of making 17 payments a month I could just make one to the same company. Did I get the right? You see I don't even know how it works. Help! Thankyou
is there a non-profit co. that will help me consolidate credit card debts? i want to be able to clear my debt. no one will lend the money to someone way behind on pmnts. i would like to make 1 monthly payment without struggling to make ends. but at the same time i would like name cleared after i repay the creditors. i dont want to do bankruptcy. the debt is around 8000
Will using a personal loan to consolidate cc debt negatively impact my credit score? I find myself in a bit of a pickle. My credit cards have high balances. Both cards combined total $23,000 (17,000 on one at 19% interest and $6,000 on another at 18% interest). While I try to pay more than the minimum due each month, I find myself unable to pay them down.....life has been getting in the way. I've contacted the cards and they refuse to lower my interest rate. I have thought to apply for a personal loan to consolidate this debt (hoping for a much lower interest rate than the cards offer) but I'm not sure if this is the best solution. I would like to be free of this debt within 3 years. However, I'm nervous to do anything that might negatively impact my credit score. My score is already lower than it should be b/c of the high credit card debt. I have established credit and have a history of paying bills on time but my score fluctuates b/w 550-565 b/c the cards have reached their limits. I need to revise my last statement b/c I saw an error. I am looking for a way to quickly eliminate credit card debt. I have two cards that are maxed out (totaling $23,000). This high debt is keeping my credit score at 650-665. My score should be higher b/c I have a history of paying my bills on time. I would like to eliminate my debt within 3 years so I can move forward and one day purchase a home. The cards will not lower my interest rates which are at 18-19%. I try to pay more than the minimum as often as possible but I feel like I am getting nowhere. Also, it's impossible to put any money into a savings account and paying extra on the cards. Will a personal loan help with my problem or is it a bad idea? I'm reorganizing my finances so that I can be debt free and ready to purchase a home within 3 years.
getting out of credit card debt? Any tips, or suggestions for the fastest way to get out of credit card debt without consolidating or filing bankrupt? Also any tips on raising my credit score?
Consilating Credit Card Debt? ok first off some background information, I am a 21 year old male, married with 1 child. My wife and I have about $7,000 in credit card debt(haha from falling victim to the ever popular "pre-approved" scam, not saying its not my fault). We make between $1800-$2000 a month in net income(don't worry this isn't permanent, we're both in college). Our house payment is $400 other utilities add up to about $200, then we have car notes that total $390 a month(we both had one before we got together). Then finally we pay about $240 a month on the minimum payments of our credit cards. Is there any way we can consolidate this credit card debt to where we can have them paid in say 2 years or so before we graduate college.

The loan has been payed in full for over a year now. But, I am unable to get a line of credit to consolidate my debt which is minimal. What options are out there? How can I deal with my credit card debt? I am about 17,000 in debt, much of that is fees and finance charges from the companies. I don't know what to do. I am only 22. I feel like I'm in way over my head and this is taking over my whole life. I don't care about having bad credit, but I would like to be able to buy a house someday. This just sucks completely. I would like to consolidate, but my credit score is 492, really, really bad. So I can't get any new loans. I don't know what to do.

Debt consolidation Loan/Credit Card? I have a bunch of credit card debt and am looking to consolidate it. I don't use my credit cards anymore and i have a perfect payment history on all my accounts on my credit report. Never one late payment on anything. I am looking for some way to consolidate the credit cards to one loan with a reasonable interest rate since some of my cards are very high interest( over 21% for one of them). The problem is being in a lot of debt i dont get enough credit when i apply anywhere to transfer the balances. I have some equity in my home but not nearly enough to tap into it or i could risk being "upside down in it" Does anyone have any suggestions how someone with a perfect payment history but hight debt to available credit ratio can consolidate? It is nice for people to try to help but i dont even know if the person who replied read what i said. I dont need my credit repaired i have a perfect credit history just lots of debt.
How to get rid of credit card debt safely?? To put myself through college I had to pay my own bills and pay for school. Unfortunately, this left me with some credit card debt. My credit is okay - as I've never been late on payments or anything - but I was wondering if anyone knows a safe way to consolidate or minimize my monthly payments without damaging my credit???

What is the best way to consolidate personal loan and credit card debt? I've kind of asked this before on here, but I think my question was misunderstood. Am I better off to consolidate my credit cards to 1 low interest credit card? I have 4 credit cards. One of them has a $100 dollar balance because I have paid it way down. Discover has a $900 dollar balance and the other 2 have $1400 dollar balances each. I plan on paying the $100 dollar balance card off today, and I make $300 dollar payments on each of them every month. Will it increase my FICO to pay the balance off of 2 of the cards and combine them all on a balance transfer to my Citi Bank card, or will it make my score lower? I want to make a higher score, and have been slowly digging my self out of debt since a bad divorce. Currently, my fico is 218. My fico is 718, oops! I typed it wrong.
Consolidating debt through consumer credit counseling services? I have approximately $2000 of credit card debt that I absolutely need to get paid down. i talked to consumer credit counseling services, a debt consolidation company, http://www.cccsstl.org/ and this is what i was told: Basically they would cut my payments down to about $130 a month total for 3 cards by getting my interest rates lowered to between 6 and 10% approximately. I would pay it off in 2 years instead of 8 as i would now without consolidating. he said the $130 a month payment included a monthly fee of $49 directly to the credit counseling service for their help and services. Is that the normal thing when consolidating? Is that legitamet? I would only be paying $80 or so a month on the actual credit card debt and that doesn't seem like very much to me. Anyone have any knowledge in this area? Is consolidating a smart thing to do and does it hurt your credit in any way? Is there a smarter way to do it? LONG-sorry and thanks!

How do you consolidate debt? If a person has credit card debt, and a very big car loan that they can't afford, how can they fix it? It's a friend of mine, and his vehicle payments are killing him (along with gas and a stupid amount of repairs for a newer vehicle). Does he have to keep this vehicle, or is there a way to get rid of it? How can my friend get his financial situation back on track?
